ChildrenCare Charity Project
Great Eastern cares and shares with our community! The Great Eastern children community project, the ChildrenCare Fund benefits children’s charities under the umbrella of the National Welfare Foundation in Malaysia annually. The Fund is managed by a board of appointed trustees who oversee the management and administration of the affairs of the Fund.
Our staff and members of the field force embark on annual public fund raising campaigns to raise funds for the ChildrenCare Fund. With a minimum donation of RM10, children and members of the public become part of this caring project that aims to help to change a special or needy child’s life for the better. To date, we have raised more than RM 1.1 million through annual fund raising campaigns! Donations collected are channeled to children’s homes all over Malaysia for specialised equipments, professional training and learning aids, books, computers, and others.
As a token of appreciation, Great Eastern sponsors an adorable Sunny Lion for every donation made and children of the donors are enrolled as a member of the ChildrenCare Club. The ChildrenCare Club aims to inculcate in our children, the intrinsic caring and sharing values of ‘Kids helping kids’ to make the future great!
Launched in 1995, the ChildrenCare Fund is in its 13th year of community contribution. Many other community events and projects are organised annually to bring cheer and joy to needy children throughout the year. Some projects of notable mention are the ChildrenCare Annual Youth Camps where children from the various children’s homes in the city are taken for motivational camping and jungle trekking trips. Recently, Great Eastern also had the opportunity to bring our indigenous Orang Asli children to the city to show them the city lights and sights for a change. Recently, Great Eastern together with the Women Graduate Association of Malaysia hosted an inspiring and motivating talk with secondary schools students and shared the experiences of two highly qualified academicians under the special programme called 'Kau Sumber Ilhamku'.
Great Eastern also works hand in hand on children’s welfare programmes together with the Government Ministries as well as Non-Governmental Organizations. Worthy community-wide projects include equipping a playroom for abused children in the first video recording witness suite under the care of the Polis DiRaja Malaysia, organising annual Children’s Forums to educate children on their rights, sponsoring Children’s Art Therapy sessions to provide alternative avenues for juvenile children to be more self expressive through the arts, sponsoring live stage shows and choir performances and many more!
At Great Eastern, we are committed to play our role to ensure a better tomorrow for needy and special children in our midst. We encourage all of you to support us in the ChildrenCare Fund. To be a part of our caring and sharing community today, drop us a line at or give us a call at 03-4259 8750.
