Great Eastern received the Business Leadership Award under the Life Insurance category during the Brand Equity Award 2008. Presented by Perception Media Sdn Bhd, the award was given based on the best media exposure via press releases in the mass media with an analysis of the highest ROI performance.

In the year celebrating Centennial Anniversary, Great Eastern was elated to receive news about being honored with Reader's Digest Trusted Brand Gold Award. This is the 5th consecutive years Great Eastern won the award for being the most trusted and favorite brand in the market.

Great Eastern once again won the Reader's Digest Trusted Brand Gold Award for the Insurance Category in Malaysia. This is the forth-consecutive year Great Eastern chosen as the winner since 2004. The company recently received a re-affirmation of its high brand value by becoming the two-time winner of the Reader’s Digest Superbrands Gold Award (for year 2004 and 2005). The winners achieved their status by receiving the highest ratings from consumers based on 5 key attributes, i.e. Quality, Value, Trustworthiness, Strong Image and Understanding of Customer Needs.

The Great Eastern Internal Audit team won first runner-up in the non-listed/public sector category of the BIAPA 2004. The BIAPA recognises and awards companies with outstanding internal audit practice via continuous development and promotion of best practice in internal audit, promotion of leadership and professionalism in internal audit and enhancement of internal audit roles in corporate governance, risk management and internal control.

The Great Eastern Internal Audit team won third placing for the Corporate Awards 2004, Category 2, which honours organisations with highest number of working Certified Internal Auditors who graduated during the period November 2003 - May 2004.

The Malaysia Book of Records awarded to Great Eastern the award for the company with the “Most Number of Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Qualifiers”
